Ultimately, single-minded solutions (ie: cut carbon at any cost) of this kind are doomed to fail as the problems we face are not single-cause. That sort of thinking leads to "I want a pill to make me slim" and "This bike/shirt/calculator will solve my problems" type thinking that leads only to failure and disappointment.
