Yoga at The Sea Otter Classic with Ryan Leech
Hi Everyone!
The 2010 Sea Otter Classic is coming up April 15-18!
My focus at this world renowned cycling festival will be to perform trials shows in the pit area (see schedule below); but as a side bonus, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be offering free morning yoga classes for anyone that is interested.
So this blog post will serve as a reference for all those riders who might be interested.
Whether you’re racing, watching, working, exhibiting, or performing, the goal of this class is to charge you up so you’re feeling amazing for the day ahead—loose body, primed muscles, and a clean and clear mind. Nothing too serious, just playing yoga!

Attending the SOC as a spectator this April with a friend that will be participating. I am new to cycling and mountainbiking but have practiced Hot yoga for almost 13 years now and Vinyasa flow for about three years. I was wondering if you would like an assistant for your yoga classes at the SOC. I am just happy to help spread the yoga word.
Sincerely,
Nicole Biondi
Hi Nicole, wow, you’ve been at yoga for a long time! Glad you’re getting in to cycling too!
Please do come on over and introduce yourself at the event, I’m sure I’ll need some help in some way or another. I’ll be doing some bike demos on the Thursday, if you’re around during that day, maybe see you then.
All the best!
Ryan
Free yoga, in Monterey, at the fest, nice!
Great idea! Count us in on 4/17 and 18.
Hi Ryan!
you go.. I have been asking Sea Otter to get some yoga going on at Sea Otter for 2 years… I also teach yoga for cyclists and they just haven’t found a place for it until now! I hope we can get together at SO to discuss how getting even MORE yoga next year and the years coming…. you are the starter of this fire lets keep it burning!
feel free to start the discussion VIA email…

Just picked up some brand new yoga mats from LuluLemon, so everyone who comes to the morning Yoga Sessions at the Sea Otter will have nice mats to practice on. Hope to see you there!!
Hi,
Do you have any idea what dates the event it this year? I think our version of the Sea Otter Classic is the Cape Epic which is an 8 day MTB race which covers about 500 miles I think. I’m not sure how it compares to the Sea Otter, but I can tell you it is brutal. This year we had a number of well known pros riding it since they are out here for the UCI World Cup.
I’ll have to make sure I get over there sometime to experience your race.
All the best,
Bill Jenkins

Looks like some pretty serious yoga moves, Ryan! That last picture makes me sore just looking at it. haha! I’ve been trying to build up my flexibility a bit for sports and yoga seems like a good option.
