Video Appearances

Segments in mainstream Mt. Bike films has been a huge part of Ryan’s career. You can see all these segments in the bonus features in Manifesto and CRUX.

Kranked I – Live to Ride

My first appearance, even though it was only a few seconds, I was so stoked!!

Torque Videozine

This was a segment shot in Granville Island, BC. Just a few hours of filming in 16mm produced a pretty nice segment!

Revolution

This classic film really helped launch my career. A must have for anyone serious about trials riding.

Kranked III

I traveled to Cusco, Peru for this film with Christian Begin. Good times and great memories. Some of the scariest lines I’ve ever ridden!

Evolve

The follow up to Revolution. This film really revolutionized the sport of trials! Reed Merschat, the producer, really worked his magic here!

Contact

The follow up to Evolve. This DVD produced some mixed review because of the large skatepark content. But overall, this DVD did help to open up the world to the diversity of trials riders’ skills.

Ride to The Hills

This is still one of my personal favorite segment. This was shot at night, in the winter, on 16mm by a fantastically talented filmmaker, Jorli Ricker. Definitely a worthy flick!

Leaps and Bounds

A film dedicated to trials riding. Shot all over the world, displaying a variety of styles from street to competition. The film has amazing flow and great soul.

Kranked IV – Search for the Holey Trail

This was shot in Quebec City all on 16mm. It is full of huge trials drops and a start to some technical balance lines.

Kranked V – In Concert

Shot primarily around Vancouver, I managed to get some of my most memorable lines, primarily the train track sequence, and a balance line. Bjorn Egna did a fabulous job of producing this film which was voted best Mountain Bike film of 2004.

ES2 – Fully Loaded

Mark and I shot this segment in Ottawa, an amazing city for urban riding. Pretty much shot this seggy in one day due to bad weather.

Monkey Style II

A short segment shot around Vancouver. This film was edited and produced by The Milkman and is lots of fun to watch.

Torque IV

Ryan’s segment was shot on the beaches around Vancouver, and he strived to ride with his Manifesto Style.

Drop In Season 2

Ryan was a guest rider in Victoria and Calgary. Both segments are urban, and both have lots of original trials and street riding.

Manifesto

Ryan’s first, self produced, feature film. Check out all the details and teasers here!

The Collective

This entire film is a personal favorite of mine, it captures the true essence of what riding Mt. Bikes is all about. An absolute pleasure to watch from start to finish. Some of the most spectacular cinematography ever seen in a mountain bike flick!!

Leaps and Bounds 2, A History of Bike Trial

My talented friend Desmond Lee passionately produced this film. This is a must for everyone’s video collection.

Mastering the Art of Trials

My second self produced film.

The Bike Compilation

My good buddy Alex Lavigne (also the director of Crux) has produced a stylish film documenting all aspects of two-wheel fun. My segment takes place on the beautiful beaches of Hornby Island in the Gulf Islands of BC. Good times!

Kranked VI

One of the most labor intensive, creative, and dangerous segments I have ever worked on. The theme of this one was to take trials to the trail; I designed my dream trail through the forest of the Sunshine Coast in BC.

Roam

The sequel to The Collective, and one of the most popular mainstream mountain bike films ever. I was so happy and proud to be a part of this film, and to have the privilege to work with this crew again. For this film we traveled to Prague, Czech Republic.

CRUX

My third film! Check out the link to learn all about this project.
